Leading Homeward

I've been a blogger for quite sometime.  I have a personal blog that I update fairly infrequently at this point where I write letters to my daughter.  I enjoy blogging, but I don't nearly find enough time to do it.

But a part of me has been waiting to start a blog to chart my growth and findings in my discipleship walk with Christ.  My mother has always kept a prayer journal, and goes back from time to time to read through her prayers and to see how God has worked in her life.  I keep up with a blog much better than I ever kept up with a journal.

For me, this blog will serve multiple purposes.

To formulate my thoughts on paper of who God is, and who I am continually finding Him to be.
To be a tool of growth and knowledge.
To keep a log of where I am, and where I'm going.
To share with anyone who wants to read.
To open doors for discipleship.
To give glory to God.

And honestly, isn't that what we are supposed to do?  Share the good news of Jesus Christ with all who will listen (even those who don't), and to do everything to the glory of God?

This blog is entitled "Leading Homeward."  I came to that title for several reasons:
1.  The first few titles I came up with were already taken.
2.  It's a phrase from a favorite hymn of mine "O The Deep Deep Love of Jesus."
3.  There is only one direction that life is going for a truth seeking Christian.  Homeward.  To Heaven.  The ultimate home.  We are only sojourners in this world.

So I hope that you enjoy this blog, and that I share with you some truth.  If you ever have any questions about my faith or this blog or Jesus, I am always willing to talk.  In fact, I want you to talk.  I want you to be challenged and left wanting more.  And more.  And more.
